如果稻农撒下一片种子,最后发现水稻光“长个”、不抽穗,那一季的辛苦就要白费。所以,弄 清楚水稻株高的发育受哪些因素的影响,对粮食生产特别重要。记者今天获悉,我国科学家对此的研究有了重大进展:中国农科院作物研究所万建民课题组最近发现 了“表观遗传修饰”对水稻株高和花器官发育所起重要作用的原理。有关研究结果近日被国际知名刊物《植物细胞(The Plant Cell)》接收。
 
据介绍,籼种水稻和粳种水稻亚种间杂种优势强大,一般比亚种内杂交水稻产量潜力高 10%-30%,但籼粳亚种间杂种存在半不育、超亲晚熟和株高超亲等问题,突出表现就是水稻株偏高,严重影响其在粮食生产上的应用。万建民课题组致力于解 决水稻籼粳亚种间杂种优势利用中遇到的障碍。科研人员说,此次他们通过表观遗传调控研究,发现了1个显性矮秆突变体Epi-df,其具有较强的降秆能力, 从而揭示了DNA甲基化和组蛋白修饰之间的关联,这就为进一步研究“表观遗传修饰”对水稻生长发育的调控机制奠定了基础,有望在将来的水稻籼粳杂种优势利 用中,用来解决水稻株高偏高的问题。(来源:光明日报)
