Metrics of Dr. Bales’ scholarship include over 150 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is a fellow in the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Society, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. 报告简介： Water storage is central to water security, especially given California’s hot dry summers and high interannual variability in precipitation. This talk will focus on lessons for sustaining water security in a changing climate, drawing on observations from the 2011-15 drought in California, and particularly what we have learned through research at the Southern Sierra Critical Zone observatory about the drought resilience of Sierra Nevada headwaters.
